We rode from Houston to Fayetteville on Saturday and enjoyed the nice weather with a tail wind all the way. On Sunday, we rode in the Fayetteville Parade. We stayed at Tom Vining's Bed and Breakfast. The accomodations and dinner provided at such a low cost were a great value to club members. Thanks Tom!

Congrats to Mark and James on a great year on the track. Mark placed
7th over all in the CAT 3's and tied for 6th in the Masters 30 plus. James placed 3rd in the Masters 30 plus. James, Mark and Reed placed 3rd in the division 2 team sprint. Mark also placed 5th in the kilometer at the Alkek Championships and qualified him to go to track nationals to compete in the standing 250 meter sprint where he came in 11th, and also competed in the the kilometer where he scored 19th. In the team sprint his team was DNF'd because a teammate broke his shoe, and pulled out of his pedal. Can't win'em all!

  2006 Bear Creek Criterium
At first things did not look good for the weekend at all with a 50 - 60% chance of rain.
Instead it was blistering hot and humid. We had a good turn out inspite of the threating rain. Then, when it as all said and done, seconds from the finish of the last race, it finally decided to rain and cool things off a bit. Thanks to all who stayed and helped pick up, and to all who raced, Club members or not. See ya in '07.

Each year we get everyone together in from of Southwest Schwinn for a club photo. The photo is framed on a plaque and give to each of our sponsor in appreciation for all they do to support grass roots cycling in the Houston area. If you want a print, then save the full size picture to your hard drive, then put it on a CD or something and take it to walmart. Also you can upload them to places like shutterfly and ofoto.

New Year's Day Resolution Ride - 01/01/2003
This yearly tradition consists of doing the death ride route, at a hangover pace followed by an incredible breakfast spread at Herb's house. The weather started off a little chilly, but we had a nice size 20+ group for this ride in and around downtown. We finished near memorial park for a homemade breakfast that we didn't nearly ride hard enough to deserve.
